This committee will work with neighborhood residents, business owners
and nearby neighborhood associations to create a master plan for
the Divisadero Corridor. The goal is to develop a more vibrant community
along Divisadero, while preserving the many unique characteristics
of the neighborhood. We will actively work with existing local businesses
and seek to attract new small businesses to the neighborhood. We
will address specific issues that frequently arise along Divisadero,
including chain stores, liquor licenses and prolonged commercial
vacancies.

Join us for our opening day of the new Grove Street Farmer's Market at Divisadero!
We hope to have a strong turn out for our first ever Farmer's Market in our neighborhood.
North of Panhandle and Alamo Square Neighborhood Associations were able to get approval for a temporary Farmer's Market.
If it proves successful, we have an opportunity to continue to have fresh produce in our neighborhood every Sunday!
Please email us at farmersmarket@alamosq.org if you are interested in tabling at this event.
We want to create a regular 'ASNA' presence and invite people to join the group, and provide information on upcoming events.
Please come join us and help make this a great new beginning at Grove and Divisadero! In early 2006, Divisadero corridor residents and merchants participated in
planning meetings to strategize about how to improve the commercial area of
Divisadero Street from Haight to Geary Streets. We've been busy!
Join the Department of Public Works (DPW), Municipal Transit Authority (MTA)
and the Mayor's Office of Economic and Workforce Development for an update.
MTA has completed a traffic and transit study for Diviadero Street from Haight to Geary Street,
as well as Scott and Broderick Streets. At this meeting, DPW and MTA will present their findings,
and a block-by-block proposal for greening, streetscaping, and potential traffice and transit changes.
You'll also receive a brief update on business attraction, safety, and cleanliness activities for Divisadero Street.
This is your opportunity to view proposed changes and improvements for Divisadero Street and
give your feedback to the City.
Batteries Plus Hearing
Batteries Plus hearing at Planning Commission
Thursday, November 1, 2007, hearings start at 1:30 p.m. (final time TBD)
City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place
Batteries Plus, a formula retail chain with over 300 stores has proposed to set up shop at 1100 Oak Street
(aka 401 Divisadero), and the City's initial recommendation is to approve this project. However, local
residents are concerned that a formula retail store is not compatible with the neighborhood. If you cannot
make it to the hearing, but wish to make a statement in opposition, sign a petition at one of the local
businesses on Divisadero (Cafe Abir has one on their bulletin board), or sign the
online petition.
